HAKAN ÇINAR EN

Artist Hakan Çınar speaks to the world in the language of the "little ones" lost in the world of the big ones. Trying to express the human body in different ways with different forms through his sculptures, Hakan Çınar searches for what the past says in his works through the body that thinks, sees, hears, but also makes illusions seem real. We visited Çınar, who says, "Carving the body is not just about giving it shape," in his workshop in Acıbadem and had a pleasant conversation.

We can say that all of Karakaya's three-dimensional visual creations, made with casting techniques and materials such as stone, metal and wood, are designed to examine how the senses rejected by our minds or the feared phenomena relegated to the subconscious are preserved.

Arts

The artist finds a way to take the viewer on a spiritual journey, sometimes drawing stories from fairy tales, sometimes from dreams, and sometimes from mythical events recounted in Anatolian or Greek mythology. Having participated in various group exhibitions and international symposiums, the artist continues to work in his own studio in Istanbul.
